Before you choose an at home English proficiency test, be sure to check whether it meets the quality and security standards required for it to be accepted by the universities to which you will be applying. The TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition test is identical in content, format, on-screen experience and scoring to the trusted TOEFL iBT test taken at a test center.

The Special Home Edition test has a strong level of security that is comparable to the TOEFL iBT test taken in a test center because there are live, remote proctors for real-time human monitoring of the test taker, in addition to best-in-class artificial intelligence technology. As a result, universities can be confident in the scores they receive from this home edition of the TOEFL iBT test. Other tests offered at home without these security features may or may not be accepted by institutions
